Week #17:Every happy moment

1. Love the exterior and interior of Jibby & Co. How I wish I have a sun room/green house just like this.
2. The Hangover (RM29) @ Jibby & Co., Empire Gallery.
3. Check this out! Tomato-coeur de boeuf, or beefsteak tomato that is sold at RM83 per kilogram. Whaaaaaat.
4. Inexpensive and okay-ish dim sum @ Yan Yan, Old Klang Road.
5. The girls and I cooked spaghetti this week! Prego sauce, hot dogs and mushrooms, yum yum. Used lok-lok sticks as chopstick 'cuz we ran out of forks. Gotta improvise yo.
6. Tiramisu waffle (RM15) and strawberry bingsu (RM10.80) @ Caffe Bene, Sunway Pyramid. Omaigawddd I love Belgium waffle! Can't get enough of them! On the other hand the bingsu was okay, it tastes just like your regular ice kacang. Well... Except that ice kacang doesn't always come with a gelato. Anyway the sour tasting gelato goes very well with the sweet strawberry and red bean paste, giving the ice flakes a balance overall taste so even though it is sweet but it somehow tastes very pleasant and not overly stuffy... You get what I mean?

Midnight trailing

Sometimes you have to be strong for yourself, you have to know that you're a good person and a good friend. What's meant to be will end up good and what's not - won't. Love is worth fighting for, but sometimes you can't be the only one fighting. At times, people need to fight for you. If they don't, you just have to move on and realise what you gave them was more than they were willing to give you. - Anonymous

You're not the first, and you won't be the last.
Sometimes things happen for a reason. And perhaps giving you up might be the only option.
Why should I make you stay, if you have already made up your mind to leave?

Friendship is overrated. Love is overrated.

3 Concept Eyes Highlighter #Gold Pink

I purchased this highlighter along with a lip marker from Stylenanda at USD13.21, around RM43 after converting (W12,000, as stated on the bubble wrapper). I've been searching for a highlighter at a medium price range for a very long time so I thought, why not give it a try?

The packaging is sturdy yet perhaps... Too sturdy. I have difficulty opening it without ruining my manicure. Not so ergonomic yo 3CE. However I love the fact that it comes with a little brush in the hidden compartment, making it very convenient to be brought along especially during travelling. Unless you don't mind bringing your makeup brushes along. Like, buffing brush, blush brush, contour brush, powder brush, eye shadow brushes...... Yeah. I don't think so.

Colour wise, the #goldpink shade did not turn out as warm as I thought, so imho this would look good on any skintone. It shows a very subtle glow on my cheek and also it glides on my skin perfectly. Also another plus side is that it gives a very glowy and natural finishing look. Not in a scarily shiny kind of way. If you know what I mean. I'll give you big A- 3CE, well done.

Week #16: Blissful

1. Flat white and French vanilla latte @ Cosans Coffee, SS15. Hot beverage on a rainy day, hmm. Bliss.

2. Know the feeling how you're so tired you don't wanna move your ass? Reluctant to get lunch even when you're starving just because your legs won't listen to your brain? Yeah. So the girls cooked sweet potato porridge. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

3. Chewy Caramel & Double Coat Tim Tam, all the way from Australia, brought by coursemate.

4. Miam Miam spaghetti (RM26.80), lobster bisque pasta (RM29.80) and Riz Noir (RM28.80) @ Miam Miam, 1 Utama. I somehow prefer the branch at Penang. Service, ambience and food quality wise. Just saying. Or maybe I'm just biased.

5. Gerai Makanan Japanese BBQ (大众烧肉) @ Taman Desa. A very fine place to chill, especially after a rainy day. The pork is awesome, beef not so. And damn, Genghis Khan is a must. (You: 'What?') I'm not making any sense but go there and you'll see.

6. Restoran 2008 Snow Beer @ Cheras. First snow beer I ever tried and it was gooooooooooood. And the salted pork! Pooooooork. So good.

7. Happy Easter everybody! Gotta say I did pretty well in Lent, for giving up some stuff that I've promised Him a month ago. *proceed to pat self on the head* Jesus must be very proud of me. Thanks man. Brofist, big J.

2 easy overnight curls/waves (heatless)

#1 Very very simple. Just braid your hair when it's damp (not wet!) and sleep on it. Or spray your hair to make it moist if it's dry. Loosen up the braid the next day. It would last more than 5 hours with or without hair spray.

#2 This is a technique taught by the ever gorgeous Lindsey Michelle. You'll need 2-3 hairbands to secure your hair once you twist it inwardly (or outwardly, whichever you prefer). You'll get nice loose curls on the next morning.

Easy. Hassle-free. Heatless. Not to mention it only takes you like, what? Less than 3 minutes? Seriously these are the best techniques ever. There's even more on Pinterest that I have yet to try, so feel free to search and experiment but remember to tell me the results!

Note: These techniques don't 100% work on naturally straight hair. I used to have straight hair and the braid did not work at all; but now that my hair is permed the curls/waves manage to stay. So yea. Just a heads up. Winky face.

3 Concept Eyes Lip Marker #RED

Gotta say 3CE has a very good marketing team. The unique (and hipster) packaging design, the ever gorgeous Sora Park as the face of the brand and the concept of mixing lip pigments to create new colours have definitely caught the eyes of many and indirectly gaining their curiosity. Myself included. As affected by the hype, I have decided to pick up a few products online.

3 Concept Eyes Lip Marker in #Red has been in my to-buy list for a very long time and I got this on Stylenanda for USD16.51 (or W15,000 as stated on the packaging), around RM53.20 after conversion.

The warm #red colour reminds me of cherry; looks very subtle and natural it can actually be worn every day. The colour is also considerably lasting as a lip tint and you can either create gradient lips with it or just go classic. Overall I really love this marker except the fact that the applicator might be unhygienic... But meh, I can totally live with that.

Week #15: Nerve-wrecking

1. Did manicure at a shop I shan't name (@ Sunway Pyramid). The service was bad and the staff were unprofessional. But I was ready to take this trip as a lesson and let the bad experience go. However a few days later my middle finger was swollen and the throbbing pain even lasted for two days! After Googling I found out that it is in fact a bacterial infection that is known as paronychia and is usually caused by unsterilised manicure tools. Wow. That is just unbelievable. Seriously? Unsterilised tools? Never. Again.

2. Love window shopping at Marks & Spencer. I mean, look at their packaging!

3. Porky Nest from Burgertory, SS15. Remember my cholesterol problem? Yea my brother didn't because he is a devil sent by the cholesterol department. (Burger alongside with other food that is bad for your heart that you can list out is his favourite food.) Arrived at Burgertory around 8 and there wasn't any available seats so we decided to take away. We waited for 45 minutes. Totally worth it though. Just look at Porky. (Sorry, heart and vessels.)

4. Had a mini road trip to Sepang with my girls this afternoon. Was supposed to collect dragon fruits from a supplier for their research study. Unfortunately the supplier messed up the harvest date and we went home empty-handed. It was fun nonetheless. We then decided to go for something sweet to deal with our disappointment and hence Wondermilk @ Citta Mall. Major love the ambience and the deco.

5. Pink Sakura (soda; lychee & peach combo) and hot chocolate.

6. Cookies & Cream, Peanut Butter Chocolate, Royal Vanilla, Foxy Red Velvet.

7, 8. Velvet in a jar, RM15. Yumz.

9. Infinite bracelet from Diva. A random gift from a very dear friend.

It was a very nerve-wrecking week - We had poster presentation on Wednesday (I did neither good nor bad, though it could be better) and our works did not turn out as pleasant as I thought it would be. Felt really depressed for half a day, until I realised that there's no point dwelling over failure and instead of sulking, what I should really be doing is to get up off my feet and learn from my mistake.

And I praise the Lord for not abandoning me and giving me strength, especially when I need Him most.

L'Oreal Professionel Mythic Oil

Controlling oil for unruly hair, contains a blend of argan oil and rice bran oil.

This is a gift from my cousin around 2 months ago and I have been using this hair oil ever since. Wasn't impressed initially, but after a couple times of using, I found that it does tame my crazily frizzy & bushy hair and makes my curls look more delicate not to mention shiny & wavy, no matter when it is applied on damp or dry hair. Texture wise, it is not as thick as a typical hair serum would be and also not greasy at all despite that it is a hair oil.

However it doesn't really fix the root of the problem. My hair reverts back to its previous state few hours after application as if I'm somehow related to Hermione Granger. Or perhaps my permed hair is so damaged that it's beyond redemption. Boo.

Alas, the search continues. On a side note, happy birthday to my bestest friend Tami, who have stood by me and supported me through many ups and downs. Love you bae. x

What's in my school bag?

Clockwise from upper left:
1. Notebook from Daiso that fits perfectly in my lab coat pocket.
2. Pocket planner I got from Noteworthie.
3. Student ID.
4. Umbrella.
5. iPad mini.
6. Coin pouch for my earphones.
7. Another coin pouch for lucky charms.
8. Wallet.
9. Ladies stuff.
10. Wet tissue.
11. Oil blotting paper from Daiso.
12. Pocket tissue.
13. Handbag hook from Daiso.
14. Eclipse mint.

I've blogged about what's in my bag on March and in that post, my bag contained less than 10 items. Yes less than 10 items in a girl's bag is impossible. Yes I like to travel light. Because on normal school days I carry half of my room with me and my bag weighs like a brick, not to forget items that are not in the photo above such as water bottle (1 Litre! Imagine the weight!) and breakfast and lab coat and whatnot. Because of the amount of stuff in my bag, I have gotten myself a bag organiser for easier access.

Gotta thank my good ol' Longchamp Le Pliage (long handle, large). Been using it for almost 3 years and it's doing its job just fine.

Week #14: Stress management

1. Tai-tai time again! This time it was at the newly opened TWG Tea Salon @ Sunway Pyramid. Finally had the chance to try the scones. Love love love scones, and it's so hard to come by a good scone nowadays, you know? And the macarons! Urgh! Don't get me started! (Refer here to know why.) If you haven't tried, you must. I insist.

2. Routine tea pot shot, titled 'Tea arrived! Friend wanted to taste, but firstlet mehaveaselfie!'

3. FYI it's priced at RM5 for each.

4. 798 Shabu Shabu @ Sunway Pyramid. RM29 including tax (student price) on afternoons. Love this new Shabu place. Clean environment, air-conditioned (synonym: not stuffy), a few choices of soup, various steamboat ingredients to grab, unlimited meat (and Dory fish) slices... One word: Satisfying. (Note: There isn't seafood such as prawns, squids etc but frankly I don't even care. I tend to avoid seafood when having steamboat for obvious reason... Unless it's prepared by my dearest mother. You're the best, mom. I heart you.)

5. Kordel's Hi-Omega Fish Oil, RM148.90 for 2 @ Caring Pharmacy. Decided to do something regarding my spiking high triglyceride and LDL-C levels. I know fish oil is not the best solution but let's just give it a try. (But... But you just had steamboat.) Sigh. I know. But but but first. It's Shabu Shabu. Second. My FYP was stressing me out so I binge ate to counter my stress (yet guilt slowly masked over once the stress was gone.) And third... I run out of excuse kthxbye.

6. Tony Roma's @ Citta Mall. The newly opened steakhouse is having buy 2 free 1 promotion (entrée only) currently until 20th April. Fillet Medallion is yum. And the rib. And the coleslaw. And the mashed potato. Okay now I'm hungry.

7. Korean food fair @ Empire Gallery. I love me some banana milk. (Brownie in a box, what!)

8. Tous les Jours @ Bangsar. Buying breakfast (for the next day) before having my weekly-must-have banana leaf.

Goodbye HIMYM!

As you have probably know, How I Met Your Mother has finally came to a conclusion on Monday. Many fans are furious because of the finale. Can't say I didn't see that coming - The ending is exactly what the fans have speculated. Albeit feeling a little bit frustrated, I thought this is a just nice conclusion to the 9 year comedy. I completely agree with this article by Heidi Priebe. In it she also mentioned that the role of timing in relationship is the highlight of HIMYM. Even though sometimes the stories in HIMYM are beyond absurd, some part of it is still real. Isn't timing the highlight of our lives as well?

There was once a boy, we were together for more than a year but the relationship couldn't work anymore. I went to college, I had my priorities; he didn't understand then he went to college as well and we grew apart. If we were together right now but not then, I would had married him with no hesitation. But the timing wasn't right, and sadly that's the end of the story.

It makes me realise that he will always be 'the one', even though I don't love him anymore. Heck, we don't even talk anymore. Yet he will always have a special place in my heart. Sounds cheesy I know, but it's true.

Funny how a comedy makes me think so much on what had happened and what will never happen. Oh well. What's in the past, is in the past. Have a good Friday peeps.

Mindf*cked - Bioshock Infinite

Bring us the girl, wipe away the debt.

I've been watching Cry's videos for a while now and as he's playing Bioshock Infinite DLC currently, I thought I'd watch the original gameplays. And boy the plot is so good I was mentally and emotionally shaken, I was speechless (and still in shock) for a good 15 minutes after going through the ending. Everything about this game, is gold. The concept, the story, everything every character said in the game, the gameplay... again, everything. If you like concept of multi-universe/parallel universe, or movies with deep theory (ie. Inception), this is the one for you.

When the game starts, Booker (the gamer) is on a boat and he is told to get a girl from a mysterious place called 'Columbia' for a pair of oddly-speaking couple with no names. The boat stopped at a light house (what is located in the middle of an ocean) and through a skypod(?) in the light house he ascended to 'Columbia', a floating city. Yup. Floating. A city. In the sky. And Columbia seems lovely and dreamy, it's the perfect city you wish you could live in. But every beautiful thing has an ugly side. And by playing the game the ugly truth slowly unfolds...

Who is that girl? Why is she important? Why the couple insistsBooker to get her? And who are they? Who is that bearded guy who calls himself a prophet? Why is the city floating? Why is everything seems so crazily perfect in this city?

There's always a lighthouse, a man, a city.
The moment you realise the story (kind of) correlates with Bioshock 1 & 2. *insert dramatic chipmunk GIF*

The mind of the subject will desperately struggle to create memories where none exists.

Enjoy.
