My top 5 favourite Youtubers!

Hey guys. Hope you're having a wonderful day.
If you have read my earlier blog post, you probably already knew I am currently in an industrial placement.
I am doing my internship presently at a food company which I will not reveal for privacy purpose. Not going to lie, 8 to 5 is no fun. Period. But I'm glad my co-workers have been nothing but helpful and friendly. Nonetheless, it is definitely a very good warm-up for my future career. 19 weeks more to go! Yay!
Anyway, nuff chit chat. Let's get to the point.

My 5 favourite Youtubers. I am so obsessed with them and I think I have watched almost all of their videos. In my opinion they are very very underrated and deserve more views and subscribers.

1. KatheenLights

Kathleen mainly does makeup tutorials using different kind of palette and her makeup looks are down right gorgeous. She also does reviews and unboxing videos sometimes. I love that she's honest, does both high-end and drugstore products and most importantly, she's very, very, VERY funny. I mean, just look at her bloops! She is currently married and she and her husbands - They are crazy about each other. (They have a vlog channel too!) Kathleen is my spirit animal - Everything about her is perfect.

2. thekatizzzle

A Japanese American from Los Angeles, I first stumbled upon her secondary channel - where she gives college advice and whatnot. She is smart and quirky and sarcastic (which I love the most). Her eye makeup is very heavy in my opinion but despite that I enjoy watching her building very vibrant colour gradient. It's like art. Seriously. Other than that she also makes great Lookbook and Haul videos. I really love her Cali style - Cropped tops, high waisted acid washed shorts and a kimono cardigan, you know the drill. She doesn't upload videos as often though as she is currently pursuing a psychology degree but you can check out her Instagram anytime for her #ootd.

3. Tried and Tested
Tried and Tested is a show by Clicknetwork in which the host Shu An tries out beauty products and gives reviews in every episode. Her reviews are very honest and the videos are really helpful. Some videos are not on Youtube though, so you ought go watch it from Clicknetwork website. Here are some of my favourite videos.

4. RRcherrypie Group
I first started watching their videos after searching Kracie Popin' Cookin' on Youtube. For those who have no idea what I'm talking about, Popin' Cookin' is a Japanese DIY kit where you make miniature food like sushi, takoyaki by using just water and powders. I find their videos very soothing and therapeutic that sometimes I watch the videos until I fall asleep whenever I'm having insomnia. Still have no idea what I'm talking about? Check out his videos below.

5. Cryaotic

Last but not least, Cryaotic! (Also affectionately known as Cry.) He is probably my favourite gamer on Youtube and I have mentioned him several times on my blog. Let's be honest - He sucks at playing (certain games). But what attracted me (and other subscribers as well) are mostly his personality - He's humble, compassionate, down to earth, funny... And his voice. His voice is so awesome I can never get tired of listening to him. No one knows what is his real name and how he looks like - He never reveals for privacy purpose and to be honest, I understand and I respect that. Plus, every outro of his videos are amazing and very nice edited. (Love your music taste yo, Cry.) He also streams every Saturday night (11pm America East Coast time) where he plays games with his friends and interacts with the viewers. Sadly the stream often starts on Sunday early mornings Malaysia time so I don't really have the chance to join and watch. Sad emoji.
Anyway, some of my favourite gameplays are To The Moon, Bioshock Infinite, Broken Age, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons etc.

I hope you'd enjoy their videos! Now tell me, who's your favourite Youtubers?

e.l.f. Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in St. Lucia

I'll admit it. I have a problem. I'm addicted to bronzers and blushes, especially when they are dupes of Nars products. I have to. I got to. You feel me?

e.l.f. Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder in St. Lucia is claimed by many to be the dupes of Nars' Orgasm and Laguna. It is retailed at USD3 as it is a studio line and I got it for SGD9.90 during my short trip to Singapore.

And I really, really like the duo. A lot. I may have fell in love with it. The blush gives me a healthy peachy glow and it looks very natural on my cheeks. The matte bronzer on the other hand, is quite powdery when I swatched in on my hand which got me worried for a few minutes. But it turned out pretty okay on my cheeks. What I can say about the bronzer is - A little goes a very, very long way. I picked up too much powder on my first try (as I was too used to my Rimmel bronzer which I got in a wrong shade) and the end result was not flattering. At all. But thank God for the existence of a big fluffy brush - You can always count on it to blend the cheek contour colours.

No complains about the packaging! The exterior is a matte black plastic (like Nars, surprise surprise) and it even comes with a mirror! I know some people have commented about how the matte plastic have picked up dusts and powder residues after quite some time but hey, I'm not complaining - USD3 and a good quality blush/bronzer duo? What more can you ask for?

I can't really comment on the dupes claim as I own neither Orgasm or Laguna. I do however have the NYX powder blush in 'Pinched' which is also said to be a dupe for Orgasm. Judging from the swatches, the blush of the e.l.f. duo has a more peachy tone and less shimmer comparing with 'Pinched' while 'Pinched' is more pinkish with a golden tone.

Generally, e.l.f. blush/bronzer duo is highly pigmented, looks natural and flattering on face, travel friendly (you'll only need to bring a compact instead of two products!), and most importantly, good quality and dirt cheap. One of the cons I can think of is the staying powder - It merely lasts for a few hours! (Less than 5, I can say.) And also the fact that e.l.f. is not available in Malaysia. Major boo.

Momma wants some e.l.f. here, okay?

Till we meet again.

Stepping into the first day of August, I can't help but feel sad.

So our internship will be starting soon and after that we'll be a bunch of official graduates. That means hello boring and tiring 9 to 5 working life. Can't believe my tertiary studies are coming to an end. No more chit-chatting and fooling around in a classroom with 14 girls and a guy. No more lecture, or assignment, or lab work. No more seeing familiar faces every day.
Our biggest concern for the past decade used to be merely examinations, grades, boys etc. But saying goodbye to study life is like welcoming adulthood - a stage that is all about independence and taking responsibility of your own life, which I'm sure I'm not entirely ready yet.

Goodbye the first half of 2014, goodbye university life. Goodbye my fellow classmates.
Au revoir, at least for now.
