Za Total Hydration BB Cream UV

Thumbs up for my butt chin!

Hey guys. So you might probably notice that I have bought a BB cream in my May makeup haul post. Personally I am not a big fan of BB cream as I found that the formula is a little bit too sticky and thick even on my dry-combination skin. (But then to be honest, I am not a liquid foundation person as well due to the same reason.)

Anyhow, I was looking for a tinted moisturiser a couple weeks ago as I've been looking like a movie extra from Walking Dead (due to my hectic schoolwork, boo). Some that are available in Malaysia like Laura Mercier, Tarte and Stilla are either waaaay too expensive or that the reviews are mixed.

I guess most of you must be familiar with Za. It is a sub-brand owned by Shiseido and the most popular product of this line is no doubt the Two Way Foundation which is also my favourite powder foundation. So when I came across this BB cream in the drugstore, I bought it immediately even without swatching.

I gotta say, this BB cream definitely wipes away all the negative thoughts that I used to have on BB cream. Made in Taiwan, Za Total Hydration BB Cream UV is definitely hydrating as suggested by its name and what's better is that it comes with a SPF 43/PA+++. It is so suitable for daily use, I normally apply this on my face after toning as a moisturiser. I really like the texture as well; it is very light-weighted and it doesn't feel very heavy on my face, like how you can feel the foundation is on your face (like paint) even after applying it for a few hours, SO thick you can feel that your pores are screaaaaming for help. (If you know what I mean.) Also, judging from my face and the swatch photo in which I blended the cream on top of a line drawn with eyeliner, the coverage is expectedly light as it is just a BB cream instead of a heavy-duty foundation. However the down side is that not all people are suitable to use this product as it only comes with a shade, boo. Thankfully the colour blends well with my skin tone and it does not oxidise after applying, I don't intend to look like a zombie, ya'noe.

Overall, for a product that is able to make my face looks glowy and dewy (in other word - not overly shiny! Oily face grinds my gears), not to forget that it comes with high SPF and a hydrating formula and most importantly it is priced at RM26.90 (for 20g of product), I will definitely purchase this again!

Week #23: 端午节快乐!

1. How time flies! 11 weeks have passed so quickly and that concludes my bench work for my final year project. Which means, it's dissertation writing time. #nofun

2. Tiramisu from Tous Les Jours as supper because YOLO. (Do people still say YOLO?) On a side note, Master Chef (US version) is back, yay!

3. Braised beef glass noodle @ Fong Lye, my favourite Taiwanese restaurant at the moment. Feels good to have good food after a hectic week.

4. Look at this precious furball! <3 (I think he's a Bengal cat..?) Isn't he the cutest? Spotted him at Bangsar while we had our usual banana leaf rice.
Living inside a box must be torturous. He was constantly looking at a stray black kitten outside, as if he's jealous of the kitty that obviously has more freedom than him. Or maybe I'm overanalysing everything. Humans.

5. 端午节 is most probably my second favourite Lunar festival (Chinese New Year obviously being the first). Why? Well. I mean, look at all the yummylicious but sinful bakzhang. Mooncake festival used to be my second favourite but the mooncake crave kinds of worn off throughout the years. However the sad thing is till date (this year) I have not eaten even one bakzhang as I'm away from home as usual. I miss home atm. :(

6. I guess there's no turning point once you broke a glassware. More are coming after you broke the first one. Same goes to dropping your phone. Some of my friends managed to last for a few months before they dropped their precious iPhones. And once the first accident happened, more followed. It's like a curse. Anyway what I'm trying to say here is that, since I was working in the laboratories for the past 11 weeks, breaking glasswares were quite common for us. However I managed to maintain my record... Only until week 8 where I finally broke a beaker. Then a glass rod. Then another beaker. And then a flask. -_- But still an achievement nonetheless. Like, 4 glasswares, pft, I'm sure with my clumsiness I can break more but I stay at 4. Right? You know what I'm saying? Ok? Ok.

6. Still have not watched Edge of Tomorrow, X-Men and How to Train Your Dragon, boo. :( Sorry my Goddess Emily Blunt, I promise I will support you in theatre.

7. Currently playing: Richard & Alice, an indie adventure game. The plot is intriguing but I was scared at some point all thanks to the mysterious and unknowing atmosphere. I know. Wuss.

8. Remember that I mentioned Corpse Party last week? I had a dream few days ago that was similar with Corpse Party but took place in my university laboratory. Corpses lying on top of benches... Yeah you get the idea.

8. I'm attending the first prom in my life next Saturday! So excited! I have already decided what to do with my hair  and makeup but the dress. THE DRESS! The most important thing is still missing! Well that's just me being last minute, as usual. No surprise.

9. Novel I recommend this week: 《帝王业》by 寐语者. Fast pace, very well written and the plot line is very fluent and well executed. It is available online (FOC) so just Google and enjoy! Probably the best online fiction I have ever read. No wonder the writer is dubbed as "Queen of Romance Fiction" by the Chinese keyboard warriors. I will definitely check out her other novels.

10. Currently listening to Bombay Bicycle Club - So Long, See You Tomorrow (album). One of the things I love about indie is that it always makes me feel infinite. If you know what I mean, you're awesome. Brofist. ;)

Anna Sui Liquid Eyeliner

I got this eyeliner last year at Haneda airport but only had the chance to use it last week since my previous one died on me. This is an interesting eyeliner. Upon unboxing you'll need to remove a stopper that is placed at the middle of the pen, then you'll have to lock the cap into the body. The tip is white (as shown in the picture above), and the ink will come out after you shake the pen and turn the dial a few times. Have to be careful though, too much ink might come off if the dial is turned too many times.

I really love the applicator as the soft brush will make winging the lines much more easier. However the ink is not as jet black as I thought, (look at my crazy swatch)... Or perhaps I need to turn the dial a couple more times. Gotta stop playing safe yo. Also it seems that much thought have been put into making this eyeliner pen, I'll give credit to Anna Sui for that. I guess you get more when you pay more. This eyeliner definitely worth every penny I paid for.

Makeup haul: Sephora, Daiso & drugstore!

1. Daiso eyebrow razor [RM5]
2. Za Total Hydration BB Cream UV [RM26.90]
3. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in 015 Tutti Frutti [RM27.80]
4. Sephora Contour Eye Pencil 12HR Wear in 01 Black Lace [RM30-ish?]
5. Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in 001 Honey [RM35.90]
6. NYX Matte Lipstick in MLS05 Indie Flick [RM26]
7. Nexcare Acne Patch [RM4.12]
8. Daiso makeup brush cleaner [RM5]
9. Daiso eyebrow coat [RM5]
10. Watson's lavender field sanitising hand gel [RM4.50]
11. Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Repair Balm SPF 30 in Icy Mint [RM9.80]

1. One does not simply step into Daiso.
Since many people swear by Daiso sponge detergent (5 stars at Makeupalley, hello!) so I decided to pick one up. But then I found out that they have actually came up with a new product that is solely for cleaning makeup brushes. So of course I grabbed it immediately. (Now let's just hope that it won't dry up my brushes.) I also picked up an eyebrow coat as I've seen a lot of good reviews on this product. It basically functions to hold your stubborn brows in place and also to set your eyebrow powder so that you won't end up having eyebrows with no ends/archeses in the middle of the day.

2. One does not simply walk into Sephora, especially when they're having 20% sales on all in-store items.
Walked out of the store with a lipstick (that I blogged about in Jeon Ji-hyun lip dupes) as well as an award-winning pencil eyeliner. 20%, so much win.

3. One does not simply have only 1 MLBB lipstick.
Everyone should be familiar with the term MLBB (My lips But Better) by now. It is basically your daily go-to lip colour. Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in Honey is my current obsession while Tutti Frutti, albeit a little bit orange, it somehow manages to light up my complexion and makes me look less like a zombie. Anyway, check out my previous favourite MLBB shade.

4. One has ran out of a suitable title. Please bear with one.
I thought I'd share a newly discovered item which is the acne patch manufactured by Nexcare. (Or wait... Maybe it's been around for decades but I've just discovered it recently...) Anyway. So I know girls (like me) tend to squeeze the pimples when they're fully matured and when the toxins are completely extracted and suitable products are applied, you can try putting an acne sticker on top of the wound. Bear in mind that these patches do not miraculously cure pimples, as it only functions to prevent further infection from happening since the wound is opened and... You're turning around in bed and the hair is in your face etc. You get what I mean? Anyway this product is recommended by Mia from Asian Beauty Secrets (Check out her videos! Very informative especially for makeup and/or skincare beginners) and since it only costs RM4 for 7 pieces so I thought why not give it a try?

So this concludes my makeup rojak haul which I've accumulated throughout the whole month. Have you used some of the products mentioned? What's your thoughts on them?

Week #22: Mentally and physically tired

1. Prolly my last donation in campus. Can't believe this is my last semester here. :'(

2. Grilled eggplants and whatnot @ Sumi-ka. BEST. YAKINIKU. EVER!!! Like seriously, I can't get over how the beef melted on my tongue once I put it in my mouth. Every item we ordered exceeded our expectations. All the proteins are juicy and tender and even the eggplants are oh-so-delicious. The beef ribs were so good I nearly teared the moment I tasted it. Not exaggerating at all okay. I think I may have found my one true love.

3. 31% on 31st. Peanut butter chocolate om-nom-nom!

4. (The bottle is so pretty.) Anyway this is how I spent my Saturday night. Let's just say that I woke up with drawings all over my hands and feet.

5. This week was so happening. Long story short, a series of events happened on our floor, (involving a mentally unstable woman, pink toxic fumes and roofs that fell from top floors into the balcony below us as well as the lake) for a second I thought that we might be cursed.

6. Managed to watch Maleficient this week as well. It was surprisingly amazing, I was actually expecting some cliche plot but nope! Disney surprised me again. Angelina Jolie is truly good in what she's doing. X-Men, Edge of Tomorrow, The Fault in Our Stars & How to Train Your Dragon next! Can't wait! :D

7. Had a dream that Johnny Depp was in our lab, sitting beside me, eagering to try my food samples. (Sadly Amber Heard was there too.) Why thank you Mr. Depp I'm deeply honoured to have you as my panellist.

8. Currently watching - Cry Plays: Corpse Party. A horror and gory Japanese game. It's a bit long but the interesting plot worth it anyway.

9. A random thought - What if Prince George and Harper Beckham have a play date? That'd be cute... And scandalous. *smirks*

10. Coming to the last week of my bench work. What I need the most now is luck, God.
